by RULES & REGULATIONS indo today's elders ever meet with inactive members and pressure them to write a letter disassociating themselves from the congregation stating that, ''you no longer wish to a jehovah witness"?.
i was baptized at the young age of 16. after turning 18, i stopped attending meetings, field service, and all jehovah's witness activities.
i wanted to be with my high school friends, go to rock concerts, have a girlfriend, and live like a normal teen.

( My Jehovah's Witness mom went insane when I quit )Elders would stop by to see why I stopped all activities and encouraged me to come back. After numerous attempts, they told my mom that I needed to write a letter and sign my name stating that, "I no longer wish be a Jehovah's Witness."I did write the letter and had my mom hand deliver it. I never heard back from them. As to what they were going to do with the letter, I didn't know or cared.Three years later I came back to the meetings. Thirty-Five years later, I left for good. -

What Is Happening to Charity?
Jehovah’s Witnesses today are also quick to help when disaster strikes. During the summer of 2001, for instance, torrential storms caused major flooding in Houston, Texas, U.S.A. In all, 723 homes of Witnesses were damaged to some extent, many of them quite badly. A disaster relief committee made up of qualified Christian elders was immediately formed to assess individual needs and to allocate relief funds to help the local Witnesses to cope with the situation and repair their homes. Willing volunteers from neighboring congregations performed all the work. One Witness was so appreciative of the help that when she received payment from her insurance company to cover the repairs to her house, she immediately donated the money to the relief fund so that it could help others in need. It's amazing how the Watchtower Society only helped homeowners( who were all Witnesses ), raised relief funds ( from Jehovah's Witness contribution boxes), got free labor from local congregation members and received an insurance settlement for their relief fund.
There is a kind of giving that is even more important than charity. Jesus alluded to this when a rich young ruler asked what he had to do to get everlasting life. Jesus told him: “Go sell your belongings and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven, and come be my follower.” (Matthew 19:16-22) Notice that Jesus did not just say, ‘Give to the poor and you will get life.’ Instead, he added, “Come be my follower.” In other words, as commendable and beneficial as charitable acts are, Christian discipleship involves more.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:14
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Jesus also said at Matthew 19:21.....
Matthew 19:21 is never mentioned or taught by the Watchtower Society. It is passed over and forgotten. Some sayings of Jesus are just a mere suggestion.
Providing food, water, healthcare, shelter, an education, and taking care of orphans/widows is not in their nature. Somehow, this scripture has no real application in their lives!
Books, magazines, the construction of Kingdom Halls/assembly halls/factories/warehouses/branch offices are their only concern.
Jesus would be ashamed!

With all the pressing matters facing the WTBTS....from the downsizing of Kingdom Halls, million dollar pedophile lawsuits, and the banning of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, Anthony Morris give a scathing two-hour talk ...Are your Pants Too Tight?
''Take a seat, Brother Smith. Go on, sit down. Okay, now look down at your legs, and grab some fabric from the thigh portion of your jeans. A little pinch will do it. Can't do it, Brother Smith? Your pants are too damn tight. Next time you're out in ''field service'', sit down on a bench and test this out. ...Did the elders see this before you went out and represented our clean organization.''

February 15, 2012, Watchtower simplified edition:
So, Selma's husband is angry, jealous, possessive, insecure, and hot-tempered even before Selma studied the Bible. Steve hits Selma. Selma tells a sister about the abuse. ( instead of calling the police ) The sister proceeds to have Selma read 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 :
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Selma ( clearly hit too often by Steve) now understands by reading this scripture that: she needs to adjust her attitude and pray to Jehovah to be more loving towards Steve! Steve is not at fault for his actions!
UNBELIEVABLE! I would like to hear the sisters comments when this December 2018 Watchtower Study is conducted. This study should be recorded and sent to Woman's Domestic Violence Organizations and the local police. The WTBTS sanction this kind of behavior!

and when the elders attended the house (really?) after violence did they...call the police or was it a family member?
The Elders were called by my mom when there was verbal abuse in my parent's marriage. We never knew what my parents and the Elders talked about.
It wasn't until 2 years ago, that my brothers and I called the police on my dad. My mom never called the Elders about my dad's physical abuse and death threats. Social Services were called to have my dad evaluated. He refused to go ...so we had to have the family Doctor fill out a form and took it to the police..where he was taken by the fire department E.M.T to the local hospital.

December 2018 STUDY ARTICLE :
Honor “What God Has Yoked Together”
17 Admittedly, there have been instances where an “unbelieving husband” seems to prove that he is not “agreeable to staying with her.” He might be extremely physically abusive, even to the point that she feels that her health or life is in danger. He might refuse to support her and the family or severely endanger her spirituality. In such cases, some Christians have personally decided that, despite what he might say, the mate is not “agreeable to staying” together and that a separation is necessary. But other Christians in comparably difficult situations have not; they have endured and tried to work at improving matters. Why?
18 In such a separation, the two are still marriage mates. If they lived apart, each one would face challenges, as mentioned earlier. The apostle Paul gave another reason for staying united. He wrote: “The unbelieving husband is sanctified in relation to his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in relation to the brother; otherwise, your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.” (1 Cor. 7:14) Many loyal Christians have remained with an unbelieving mate under very trying circumstances. They can testify that doing so was worthwhile in a special sense when their mate became a true worshipper. —Read 1 Corinthians 7:16; 1 Pet. 3:1, 2.
Here is another troubling and despicable study article by the WTBTS.
I lived through this shameful article with my mom and dad. My mom, my two brothers, and I were baptized Jehovah's Witness in the late 1970's. My dad was a non-believer. He would always be verbally abusive towards our mom every time we attended meetings, field service, and assemblies. Sometimes he would lock us out of the house late at night just to get back at us.
Their marriage was miserable on both ends. Elders would be called to the home when the verbal fights would get out of control. The Elders advice to my mom would always be, '' Stay with your husband, he might ''one day be a Jehovah's Witness.''
The last few years ( my mom being sickly and not being able to walk) couldn't attend any more meetings. She would listen to the meetings over the phone.
My dad would be verbally and physically abusive( he slapped her and even made death threats). When my brothers and I found out about the abuse, we tried talking to her to live with one of us and leave our dad living on his own. She refused to move out because of fear and reading articles just like this one.
Many loyal Christians have remained with an unbelieving mate under very trying circumstances. They can testify that doing so was worthwhile in a special sense when their mate became a true worshipper. —Read 1 Corinthians 7:16; 1 Pet. 3:1, 2.
We had no choice but to call the police and have our dad ''mentally evaluated'' at a local hospital. After his mental evaluation, he was forced to move out of the family home and move in with a close family member. My youngest brother moved in to take care of my mom. A year later she passed away.
